Touch a life

In life, everything is not money. That has guided my belief in whatsoever thing I do. Saturday 18th October,2008 was another great day. My friend-lolu mogaji had a full day event with Nigerian Student society of Investors and Entreprenuer,Olabisi Onabanjo university, Ago-Iwoye,Ogun state. A great student body with mission to inculcate business and entreprenuership spirit into their memberships while still in the University. Beacuse it was a full day event, I was also given an hour to talk on how to effectively manage an organization with emphasis on leadership and other key points. We really had a nice time. while I congratulated them I also did say that while we were in the university all that we had as extra curricula activity was centred on how to build our faith and used faith for everything without the knowledge of how to use our skills. At the end of the session, a student walked up to me, thanked me for my session and said he was really challenged by my session.One of the things that challenged him was the fact that I did tell them that I did not get to study the course of my choice for my basic degree. But through sheer determination to do well with whatever you have left, I was able to get three awards reading the same course I did not like and how from there, I have been able to retrain myself for what I am doing today. Be an influence, use what you had passed through as an encouragement to the younger generation.

What a wonderful, supportive ally you were You became an evidence of my presence Danshiki, a great name you have among the southwest In Nigeria. Even though as a child growing up, I never Liked you and the only one my Daddy made for me was rejected because of my hatred for you, Today as an adult I had to fraternize with you for over hundred days See how circumstances do change. I will never forget you; you will always remind me of my life assignment That must always be with me whether I like it or not. Thanks for providing such a covering After over hundred days, I had to part way with you again But with a great lesson, that I should not have any permanent enemy Nor friends, but should live life loving everyone. How my hand was restored to normal was another story for another day. The Doctor at the said hospital did say that after my hand had healed, I should not expect more than 55% restoration of what I usually had before. Today my right hand is back to normal. The lesson I learnt in the process as well as my takes on the issue of Life are: Obedience to inner Voice : Be ready to obey your inner instinct especially those of us who serve God. Sometimes God wants us to stay somewhere but we want to reason it out. If I had stayed in door all day, possibilities were there that I might have escaped the accident. Government/ Medicine : I want to appeal to government to please make a new law which empowers people who wish to help accident victims to do so. Many don’t want to touch accident victims here in our culture because if anything happens, the individual will be roped in and made to answer cases whereas the individual is just trying to help. Government should also increase facilities in teaching hospitals.Particularly those that are in Metropolitan cities like Lagos. For human being-accident victims- to be sleeping on bear floors is degrading in the 21st century. Government should also hire more hands to supplement what we have now. Our medical personnel should please increase their customer service ethics. Patients are customers not goat,they are human who deserve respect. We knew our medical personnels are under staffed, work under terrible and inhumane conditions. I also plead that the sanctity of life should still be preserved because many had died in the process of Doctors, Nurses manifesting their frustration on innocent citizen. Many had to go to fake local doctors who deceive them by lying that they could do it. But that does not nullify the fact that there are genuine local/herbal doctors who are doing greater jobs than the so called medical ones. Personal safety: my experience here showed that men/women; particularly those that are married should take their personal safety seriously. We should not take unnecessary risks with our lives. When the ships are down, it is your immediate family that will suffer the most. After one week of your demise, people have to mandatorily return to their busy lives particularly in Lagos. Pray for safety but watch what you do.

Today, I am back to tell a story, a story so real but look untrue. When I thought about it, I am amazed at how life is so short and can pass-on within split seconds. I woke up on 20th June, 2008 normally like any other day. Excited feelings of waking up alive but with strong feelings of not wanting to go out- I meant to stay in door. Or at most do all that I had to do within the confinement of the house. As a common practice, I love to read my Bible every day before going out. But somehow I found myself using more time than usual. I sat down meditating for long and in the meantime slept off. I do not know whether it has happened to anybody, I sensed an out of body experience to just stay at home. But in the process of finding a justifiable reason while a man should stay at home all day and not go to work, my phone rang and a request to do something urgently around Allen Avenue in Ikeja Lagos was made. I quickly dressed up and hit the road. I had a strong inclination to take certain route but the traffic was heavy on that route so I took another route which seemed longer. Just about to place my right leg on the culvert of the office I was going in Allen, I heard "bang" with a shout of 'heeee ' and I passed-out. A reckless taxi driver hit me from back. Threw me up in the air and while coming down, I hit my head on the guy's windshield. But my right hand prevented me from going through to the front seat of the cab and I eventually landed on the roadside. All this while, my consciousnesswas gone. Passers- bys- as usual in Lagos became pity party and none to help. Everyone thought I was gone but subconsciously I was hearing everyone speaking. After a while the Taxi Driver pulled me inside his car and drove on without anyone with me inside. That was a concern, because we have heard stories of how drivers would carry their victims and dump them somewhere so they would neither be queried by police nor anyone. Fortunately, I became conscious and I started praying for my life's preservation. I also questioned the driver where he was taken me to. By this time I knew I heard bruises all over my body and a broken arm. He said he was taken me to the Hospital. I neither had much cash on me and I was not so sure the driver had. I had had lost my phone in the process so I could not call anyone. When we got to the Hospital, a government owned teaching hospital in Ikeja, not much help was given; the driver had no money on him, neither did I. At the emergency clinic, there were crowds of victims, some dead, some alive. A victim got attention to the degree at which he knew anyone at the top hierarchy and if you knew the right contact to call. Otherwise you had to wait until the Doctors who had worked four days without rest could attend to you. Most of the real consultants are always out to do something. I was told to send someone home so he could bring me a wrapper to sleep on the floor for the night as I would not be attended to until midnight, meanwhile it was still 10.00am in the morning. I was given anti –tetanus injection though. My plea that the doctors should do an x-ray which would confirm whether I had any internal injury fell on deaf ears. The nurses said, there was no Doctor who would give them that instruction. After a long while Emmanuel Utomi, a great friend and brother showed up having been briefed about the incidence. He was so happy to see me alive because he had been told that if he met me conscious, I was lucky. His coming brought a lot of difference as he made contacts with some individuals among whom was pastor Samuel Adeyemi, whom he works with and who also doubled as my church pastor. There and then, we got a phone number of whom to call within the system that could facilitate immediate medical attention. At the end, x-rays that could not be taken were taken and we had to beg the officer in charge of the plaster of Paris (POP) to attend to me. To be honest, he was already fagged out. The young lady in charge of the x-ray too had been on her legs for the better part of the day and fatigue was visibly written on her face. She was the only one setting the x-ray table, taken the x-ray etc. But alas, after the POP, I went to do a check x-ray, and it was shown that my humeral bone was not aligned and I had to go home like that to come back on Monday, because the accident happened on a Friday. By this time, it was already ten minutes to five in the evening. I came back on Monday as instructed but that day was another full day for the Doctors, so I was shouted at for requesting to be attended to. I was told to go back home for the next six weeks when all of us knew the bones were not aligned. This was confirmed by the x-ray I went ahead to take that Monday morning. For almost seven weeks I was at home with a POP which we all knew would not do anything to the bone. I could not bath by myself; I could not use my right hand, I could not wear clothes except the “danshiki” we hurriedly went to make. While at home, I enjoyed strong supportive words of a loving, highly dedicated wife and my daughter. Many friends rushed in that weekend to see me, my church members, unit members made it home to see me. I thought that was great but after that everyone had to go back to their busy schedules in Lagos. Thank God for people like Emma Utomi who kept calling to find out my well-being, Femi Aturu, Mrs. Fakoya kept coming, offering other form of assistance within their reach. At the end of the six and a half weeks, I returned to the Hospital, took another X-ray with the hope that a miracle would had happened, but alas no miracle happened, the bones were already pulling apart the more and I was told to come back next week so they could think of the next course of action. I never did.

Leading an examplary life requires that we take conscious effort to build a structure that we will individually be proud of in the days to come.This will also allow posterity to judge us well. Life is a journey so they say. one day the journey will end but the footstep we all leave behind will speak volume of who we were when we were here. While we consider what we daily go through and the challenges that want us to join 'them' we must also question our own rationale, values whether they agree with what we planned to be or who we planned to be.

The secret of Relevance

He had been many things to many people, but yesterday, he became a dead man to everyone- This Day Newspaper.

Popularly known as ” Alaafin Molete”, a reference to his over- lordship in Molete neighbourhood in Ibadan city or the Garrison commander” on account of his brand of politics - a blend of cheap populism, and raw thuggery - that often compelled either violent loyalty or violent opposition, he was not just a law unto himself in politics, he was a law unto others, especially in the current Fourth Republic. His favour was curried by presidents, governors and all who sought power. And to them, he became a revered father, “Baba Adedibu!” Ilaji Ibadan ti won npe l’enikan (One mistaken for a person when he is indeed half of Ibadan). That was Odolaiye Aremu, the late local musician, the dadakuada exponent, singing the praise of Adedibu. He actually forcefully graduated from being “half of Ibadan” to being practically the whole of Oyo State, determining who became governor or held any political office at all. Those who crossed his path, even a governor, got removedarly - The Guardian Newspaper.

Today, I woke up with mixed feelings.Yesterday I did thank God that at last the pacesetter state-Oyo state, southwestern Nigeria will now know peace for the time being. A friend called me and he heard my excitement on the phone and was worried why I should be excited over the death of a fellow human being.

After a six hour's sleep, I woke up to think about the other side of this man. While I do not support the man's unruly behaviours or some of his excesses. Like how he single-handedly managed the state and led it to a halt in all sense of it.

On the other side of the divide, I thought of how a single individual could held sway over a lot of people, controlling their thought patterns and given direction to how their daily affairs should run?

No matter what, Alhaji Adedibu held a strong positive influence on those guys he daily fed, catered for, provided for, whose childrens'school fees and hospital bills he paid etc. He was the man of his own people 'cults'. He was accessible to them all.He took personal responsiblity for their lives as well as tutored them-whatever kind of tutoring he did supply based on his own knowledge.History will determine that among those people. We could sit down at the confinement of our own walls to draw conclusions about him.

The moral in this is that if our government, individuals and corporate organizations will be up and doing in their responsibility of caring, guiding and proviing an enabling ennvironment that will spur development of personal capacity as well as being accessible, reachable, show enough sense of responsibility in making relevent basic necesities of life available to the people, i do not think people like Alhaji Adedibu could command such kind of attention.

If our corporate organizations will be responsive enough to the needs of the society by being there always for their clients, staying in touch and have the utmost good of everyone in mind, people like Alhaji Adedibu's influence will become nill.

I must confess that I am not a politician and none of my family member dead or alive is- in terms of partisan politics.I have never met Alhaji Adedibu one-on-one, neither have I benefitted from his 'amala-kind'-eat and I eat kind of politics.

But we must be able to draw the line and not make the mistake of throwing the baby away with the bath water. It is a clarion call and a need for action on the part of irresponsible ways of life of government, individual and corporate behaviours. To be relevant, we must make impacts on our surroundings.

Mr. Jailor

How has our weekend being?Given also that today is the last day of the month of May. By tomorrow-which is few hours from now, we will be in the month of June. the reality of this is that we are in the middle of the so- called new year we celebrated about one hundred and fifty five days ago. My admonition today is to ask whether mr. Jailor has not been able to sentence us to the status qou. The position where we complain and give in. A position that allows us to give good reasons for our inactivities and lack of progress. Mr. Jailor is known in every city, town, village. Infact he is always a neighbour who shows up to say hi. But as soon as you answer his subtle call for good neighbourliness, you are already in a great chain. He neither wishes to leave you alone but to ensure you, your ideas are caged and sentenced to a new routine you have vowed never to follow. Mr. Jailor appears to all of us in different gabs, dress and name. But coming to the bottomline of it, mr. jailor is the same person everywhere. He may be a good reason for not doing things the way it should be, he may be the boss, your parent, your friend-boy or girl, your environment, money. Believe me my friend, push your way out today and break free from Mr. jailor's prison beacuse you can not afford to use the next two hundren and ten days in the prison of Mr. jailor. if you do,

There is always a pay day

Today, our short encouragement is THERE IS ALWAYS A PAY DAY. As we know, many make effort, an attempt at their dreams for two reasons. One is pleasure and the other is pain. We are all aware that there is no two ways to it. One either pays now and enjoy the pleasure of achievement tomorrow or refuse to pay now and suffer the pain of not making an attempt tomorrow.Today in our busy lives, many, particularly who live in metropolitan cities know what it means to strive, struggle, work late, stay late to read and prepare for another exams while still raising a family by the side. The price often overwhelm many and they give up in the midst of the heat.Forgeting that what they have passed through is greater than what is left behind.The unfortunate part of the whole show is that crown is not given to those who tried and abandoned the project in between but those who stick to it to the end. Today we have a choice to stick to it or let go of our dreams.Do not let go. The valley is not that deep as it looks from afar. Pay now and enjoy the pleasure tomorrow.

Chasing Money

Recently, I read this post from a popular medium and having been a victim once, I decided to let my community read this so they could avoid the temptation. Happy Reading: One of people’s greatest weaknesses is the temptation of making fast, easy, chunks of money. It’s a reliable button that’s constantly being pushed on and taken advantage of in every which way in today’s society. The motivation varies but the underlying premise is you want to make as much money in as little time as possible with minimal effort. The most obvious way to do this is through criminal means. You rob a store, deal drugs, steal nice cars, rob a bank, etc. Then, for the less brazen comes a more legal way (in some states) of satisfying the chase for money. Gambling. Casinos know all too well how powerful greed can be and they profit immensely from it. Then come the get rich quick schemes that seem “legitimate” at first, at least to some naïve people. Pyramid schemes, make money on autopilot schemes, Nigerian princes contacting you via email, promising you hundreds of thousands of dollars if you send them a couple thousand their way first so they can get out of the country, etc., and of course, all that does is waste even more money. Then, some will start to pursue real, legitimate ways of making big bucks by pursuing avenues such as real estate, sales, or starting their own business, because they know such and such person who did that and now they’re rich, but since those avenues require a lot of time and effort, most probably won’t stick it out to the end. But for the ones who do stick it out to the end and find themselves at last with the money they’ve always wanted, it will prove to be a hollow victory simply because they did not take themselves into account. That’s the problem that comes with chasing money. By chasing money, you tend to become so focused on the external means of doing so that you activate an unnatural process because you constantly focus outside yourself, which prevents you from focusing internally on how best you can serve. All the avenues that people pursue to chase the almighty dollar have the hidden flaw of taking you out of the equation. By constantly focusing on finding a “vehicle” outside yourself to make money, it stops you from asking the right questions to put the focus back on you because that’s the correct solid foundation you want to work off of. Questions such as: What am I good at?Where do my strengths, interests, and talents lie?How can I best use these to serve others? You have to factor YOU into the equation. Don’t look for external factors first because if you don’t know what “shape” you are, you won’t know which “piece” out there will fit correctly with you. But since many people don’t realize that, they engage in money making ventures that don’t suit their personalities, their preferences, values, interests, etc., simply because they do it for the money. As a result, they become miserable and conflicted with themselves because the outside venture does not “fit” with them at all and all those negative, bitter emotions carry over and infect other areas in their lives. A classic example is a person wanting to become a lawyer simply because he hears they make good money. He invests a large amount of money in law school, graduates, but finds he absolutely hates practicing law. The long hours, the long commute, all the research he has to do, the stress level - sure he’s making money, but the job and everything about it doesn’t “fit” with him at all. I’m not saying it’s bad to make money. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with making money. Making money is something we all have to do but when it becomes the #1 thing, it’s not conducive to helping us find the right “fit” for ourselves and it also helps us forget one of the most important parts about making money – the desire to truly serve. People make the mistake of chasing money first, not realizing it’s a byproduct of serving as many people possible in the best possible way. Money comes as a natural byproduct of that. When you focus on money first, you skip the part of desiring to truly serve others first and your self interest becomes #1 at the expense of others. When that happens, it becomes really easy to blur the moral line. It becomes really easy for you to tell a customer that their car engine needs to be replaced, when all it needs is a little tune up, just so you can make a couple extra thousand dollars. It becomes really easy for you to cut back on the quality of your products and services so that your profit margin will be larger at the end of the fiscal year. It becomes really easy for you to do a lot of things that in the short term, will seemingly benefit you, but in the long term, will come back and bite you in the rear. Chasing money will seem very appealing and tempting at first, but you will always find upon closer inspection that the end result just isn’t worth it. Focusing on taking into account everything about yourself and how best YOU can serve will prove to be the journey that’s ultimately worth it.

It is an opened secret that I have not be updating this site like I use to do.I have had pressure of work but that is not a good reason. So I must apologize to my community for this. Given this also I must come here to wish my numerous fans a happy new year.

During the year I have been encouraged by many of you out there. I have met new friends here in the bloggers community and some of the relationships are worth keeping.I may not be able to mention names here but all of my community members are wonderful. The Final whistle

To some, the year is gone already and nothing can be done about it. To some, many water have passed under the bridge and yet many can still cross the bridge in the next few days.

There is still room to do a lot and there is no reason to give up on yourself that the year is gone, keep trying and keep pushing. You do not have to determine the game until the final whistle is blown. A slight mistake from the opponent can be to your own advantage. I can see clearly that your strategy will still work out as planned even though we have less than forty days to the end of the year.

It takes grace and extra effort but it is still possible. Individually we must all become strong in strategy to win the game and win it with everything in us.Your courage is waiting on you to put on a fighting spirit and get the goals. The year will not end until you have achieved your goals. Do not let the remaining days go without putting in all your efforts so that you will not be caught panting when the final whistle is blown.

Pursue Your Dream

Life is about choices. The dreams of today are reality of tomorrow if they are pursued and given right environmen.I read these lines below somewhere and i think i will help someone out there. Happy reading: When you pursue your dreams, you'll often be met with a lot of negativity and discouragement from the people around you. Some will be out of genuine concern, but the majority will be based on not so good intentions - jealousy, the desire to see you fail, insecurity, etc. It's imperative to distance yourself from negativity and discouragement because it's the most poisonous dream killer out there. If someone handed you a cup of water and put a little drop of poison in it, would you still drink it? You wouldn't drink it in a million years, yet that's exactly what people do. They "drink in" the poison inadvertently by surrounding themselves with negative people and it slowly enters their system and kills their dream from the inside out by sowing the viruses of fear and doubt.t to germinnate. Never undervalues what you can do. Stay focused.

Rebranding Nigeria On EKO FM

Monday october 1, 2007 was one of the best days this year for me.I am a passionate Nigerian and given that that day was 47th independence of this great country gave me a lot of joy. We might not have been there but it is a fact that we will soon get there. We may have a long way to go but a step ahead makes a thousand miles reduce by an inch. So, I was so glad when I had invitation to be part of a live show tagged "Rebranding Nigeria". I was on the two hour show with a good friend of mine-Lolu Mogaji- an image consultant and life coach.In our bid to do what we knew to do most as brand and public relations experts, we discussed at length the need for individuals to make up their minds, become a good, compelling vision 'caster', and to develop strong leadership ability that can turn our beloved country to what it is expected to be despite the fact that some of our leaders are yet to see the need to provide the right leadership that will take us to the expected height. Many of the listeners who called during the programme quite appreciated the trend we followed but were overtly concerned about the environment and politcal situation that may not encourage such individual decision. some were concerned about how long it will take Nigeria's leadership to rise to the level where they will lead the people to the right place or promise land. We know that there is no rebranding without a promise of value-Nigerian Dream- but we do believe the youth has to take the bull by the horn and profer solution, come up with the vision of a Nigeria they want to live in. The problem is that we always assume that big nations have no known challenges, the difference is that they know how to manage perception and on this, we appealed to our media to be careful how they use their pen.Which can be a weapon of mass destruction when it comes to rebranding Nigeria. At the end of the programme, we sent the message of hope and that everyone should hold on to theirbelieve of a newNigeria by becoming a good ambassador.

Keep Moving

Life is all about strategic movement, You do not stay in our place and expect everyone to come and meet you. You do not get ahead staying in one place for a long time. No matter how sweet your present location is, if you remain too long, it will turn sour.Many believe that since things have stopped moving they should stop taking actions as well. Nobody has made substancial progress staying in the same stop for life. I read a book recently titled HOW MOVED MY CHEESE, and the whole story is about four young guys that were celebrating their new successses/discoveries but two of them were smart to know when to move instead of staying put with the present achievement. I encourage you today not to rest on your achievements but to keep moving even if you are having it rough. There is a ligh after the tunnel. Stay on top.

Hit The Road Again

Today is a new day. Every day is a new opportunity; every opportunity is a door to several others.We can not because of yesterday-no matter how many days make up that yesterday- abuse today's opportunity. Every day presents a new slate by which we can all right a new chapter and go ahead with new chapters to get a complete story. I know that some yesterdays may not be funny or be an experience to remember for many. Few are lucky to have their yesterdays as the standard spring board to move ahead. No matter what our yesterdays contain, we can still blaze a new trail, we can still achieve more, we can still cover, break new ground. Some have just suffered layoffs, while many are just bereaved as I saw a lady looking downcast, dejected this morning. A friend asked her why she was looking that way and she said 'she just lost her Dad'. that may be irreplaceable but I belive that she can still gather herself together and with God's help she can still go places. No matter what our yesterdays contain, I admonish my community members today to refire, hit the street again, make the move, hope for the best and I assure you that the future is not a s bleak as you must have thought. For those who believed that their yesterdays were enviable, we need to remember that the enemy of a better tomorrow is the 'goods' of yesterday. Do not rest on your achievements, several laurels are still out there. Do not settle for better when there is opportunity for the best and beyond the best there are several many opportunities. If I must captioned this blog, I will say it is a new dawn, therefore HIT THE ROAD AGAIN. I love you all, see you tomorrow.

Charisma is the possession of a presence, attraction, and attention. To be charismatic, command attention all you need is to identify a cause, an ideal, a vision and ability to demonstrate that you will not sway from your goal. From then, you will begin to command attention because you are believed to have a plan and that you are going somewhere. That place is not as important (that is an added advantage) but to demonstrate you are going somewhere. There are several ways that one can show charisma. Any or combination of the followings is (are) great starting point: 1.Sainthood: be seen as someone who is true to his words. Before this, you must have had a cherished value that you will not compromise. You must live what you believe and not a chameleon with different colurs of beliefs. 2. Eloquence: cultivate the habit of using words craftily, in other words be a choice word user. Enhance the power in your words. Words create emotional disturbance. It can lift, stir anger. Get to honour agreements and promises made. For everyone, there are written and unwritten laws by which they operate their lives. This morning event taught me a very good lesson on Purposeful living.There is this young man that is paid to take our daughter to school and bring her back to after School before we come back home.The said young man has being consitent in coming late to pick her despite several verbal instructions that he must come latest by 7.30am daily. This morning as usual, he came around 8.10am and I was a bit upset with him because of the delay he had caused me.Instead of venting my anger on him, An African adage which can simply be translated to "times/situations never remain static or straigth neither is life so straight, erect like the rod of a typical local gun" came to mind. What this meant in this peculiar situation which I told him was that things don't alway remain the same and if he thought he could continue to hold us in random for life , it will be a joke.Being a proper "Yoruba- a tribe in Nigeria" , he understood the meaning of the adage without any further ado. He eventually apologised and left. When he had left, I began to think about the adage too. I understand also that times may bring whatever it wills, but how prepared am I in the face of eventualities? How am I maximising the moment giving the fact that I don't have a control over tomorrow? What are the good I should be doing now that I am not doing or what is the level of commitment that Ii should put to what I am doing and Ii am not? Can I wholly say that I fulfilled every day assignment before I go to sleep daily? These are thought provoking questions if we must live a purposeful life that our maker will be proud of. Are you aware that you may not be living your life purposefully and that you may be sincerely wrong in some decisions. think a bout this and change as I am thinking about mine too. Research has shown that for one to be happy,prosperous,one must believe that he/she has a strong measure of control over his life, sign up for inevitable changes and daily setbacks as well as apprehensions. A self-relaint person must take action from the present instead of fearing what can happen in the future.the individual must learn from past mistakes and move ahead. Every One Is A genius

In my search for the major difference between talent and genius, I have come up with a discovery that baffles me. It has caused me to begin an internal search of my potentials, talents in relations to what I have done with them. Malcom Cowley defines talents as “what you possess while genius is what possesses you”. I am almost certain, though I am still trying to propound the theory that an individual can use his/her talents to enhance his creativity and not vice versa. Anne Germaine De Stael also wrote that genius is essentially creative; it bears the stamps of the individual who possesses it or who is possessed by it. This can be validated by actions/results that Thomas Edison, Alexander Bell, Bill Gates of this world have gotten. Interestingly, I also discovered that every one is a potential genius and that there is no problem that can not be solved; there is no question one can not find an answer to. This is made possible by the fact that there is no one without a single talent no matter how small. The truth though is that we may not be equally endowed, but the little we all have can be work-out to produce the genius in us. Every one of us has a gifted brain, talent in one thing. It may not look like it initially until pressure is put on that little potential. For instance, I knew I have a passion for writing; but when I started out my grammar, style was so bad. Today, even though I am not there yet, I am still working hard to become a better writer and I had received a lot of encouragement from better writers than I. Olaito:.In one of your write ups you said it took a long time before you finished you degree, what accounted for that and what gave you the morale to finish?.. Charmell: When I was a third year student at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, I left school because I felt overwhelmed by the emotional demands of being a student at the time. Basically, I was struggling to meet a set of impossible, self-imposed standards and the pressure began to affect my academic performance and my state of physical well-being. So, two months shy of my 21st birthday, I withdrew from Bryn Mawr and went home to my parents in New Jersey. After a short while at home I chose to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. At first I was not interested in returning to college, but after 3 years in the military my desire to finish my degree returned. Unfortunately, my work schedule often conflicted with my class schedule and I would repeatedly drop classes when that would happen. After I left the Air Force in 1998 I took a very hectic position testing software at Microsoft Corporation. I gave my entire focus to my work at Microsoft until 2002 when I finally felt well enough to really complete my degree. Looking back, I see that it was important for me to heal my emotional wounds and learn from my mistakes before I could really invest myself mentally and emotionally in completing my bachelor’s degree. Olaito:How did you develop the skill to become a problem solver and why did you chose this professional part? What will you have being doing if you are not doing what you are doing today ? Charmell: My personal and professional experiences have honed my problem solving skills. When I was in the Air Force, I was a medical laboratory technician. It was important for me to be a nimble and sharp thinker in high pressure (life or death) situations in the hospital. If I did not perform my job with skill and finesse, I could have delivered faulty information to the physicians that could have resulted in deadly outcomes for the patients. When I worked at Microsoft, I had to work with technology that we had never seen before and find ways to evaluate and test new features they were ready for the public. .Olaito: You talk of helping people grow pass their challenges, how do you do that and are there specific instances where that had happened to a client of yours: Charmell: Often the way this particular growth occurs is that I assist people in pausing and exploring what has held them back from success or blocked their path to freedom. When they look with courage they quickly realize that any limitation they have experienced in the past has been a mere figment of their imagination.Olaito : we have found that bad habits destroy many in our society today, do you have suggestions on how to form good habits, change old ones etc Charmell:Currently, my own method for forming supportive and empowering habits is to focus intently on the new/desired behavior until my subconscious mind is programmed to view it as the norm. I find structures such as lists to be helpful. I also recommend that people set up a system of rewards that will motivate them to act in the preferred way and reinforce positive change. Olaito:.We seem to be having many in the school system today who don’t know where they are going, reading any course without a thought on where that will lead them, can you let us have your opinion on possible causes of that, what does this trend portend for national building as well as maximum individual capacity utilization.? Charmell:I think it depends on the context in which the students act. I feel that it can be perfectly acceptable for students to approach education and training with a sense of adventure and exploration. Is it really necessary for a young person to decide what she will do for the rest of her earthly life when she has had so little time (less than 18 years!) to gather information about her gifts and preferences? Perhaps in some places it is necessary for the individual to sacrifice personal preference in favor of what is best for the collective. Olaito:. You said you love to see adults complete their degrees, this has become a passion that you love so much, what influence such passion, how easy is it working with adults who already have their opinions formed? Charmell: My personal experience as a working adult who returned to finish a degree after the age of 30 is what incites my passion for helping those who endeavor to complete their degree after having been out of school for 7 or more years. I find that while some adults are very much locked into old patterns, many others like myself are willing to consider and experiment with new ways of being and acting. Olaito:. You are a personal development consultant, what are the basic requirement to practice your profession in the US? Charmell: Personal Development Facilitator is a title I have bestowed upon myself as a way of describing my three primary roles of success coach, professional speaker and workshop facilitator. Olaito:. You are also working with students in schools to reshape their values, have you made tremendous progress as you desired?...are there anything you think government can do to reduce the spate of violence we have among the youths? Charmell: I have not yet had the level of impact that I desire to have in influencing the values of young people. My chief desire with regard to shaping the values of today’s youth is to help them understand their greatness and their responsibility to make a contribution to the world that is proportional to their potential. As for what government can do to reduce the violence among youths, for one thing the leaders can shift their focus toward the behavior they desire to increase and give no thought to that which they do not prefer. Too much is made of the problems while the good news goes unreported and uncelebrated. Olaito:. What can the older generation do to leave a legacy to the younger generation in terms of empowerment activities?.. Charmell:We can use our own way of being and doing as an example for the young people to follow. Far too many adults have stopped actively dreaming and growing. Why should the younger people emulate older people who squander their power in an attempt to resist change and fight against what they don’t want? Olaito: In decision making process, can you suggest those factors you counted as necessities before one should arrive at a quality decision, can one accommodate changes as events unfold even when you have made a quality decision.? Charmell:When making any decision, it’s important to perform an inventory of relevant values that are at play within the situational context of the decision. Once one knows which values are most important to him in the situation he is pondering, he can choose to honor those values so that he will be at peace with the outcome of his decision no matter what changes arise in the future. Olaito:. How are you as a professional, career woman combining managing your work and still having a happy home front as we can see in you. What is your advice to other women who are having problems managing the two?... Charmell: Two factors contribute to my success in balancing a career with my family life. The first factor is the willingness of both wife and husband to openly communicate their vision and expectations so that any potential conflicts between what each of them wants can be identified and negotiated. Second, it’s important to create and observe boundaries to prevent one part of life from encroaching upon another part. By observing boundaries, a woman (or man for that matter) can ensure that she honors the commitments she has made to her family and to the people who rely upon her in her professional life. In sport there are several categories of athletics and several athletes. There is a class of athletes called Amateur and the big league is called Professionals. The difference in the two is not that big. Only that through exercise, strong passion and will, some decided to move ahead through conscientious effort to work on themselves than on the game. Most successful junkies spend their time trying to find a way to “automatically” make money, fame, and name. This has brought many to inglorious fall. Ask those who had used performance-enhanced drugs to win a game or give impression that they were professionals if you are in doubt. There are some also, who rather than spending the time to make themselves automatically do the thing that bring success had continuously spend better time on themselves than on themselves than their jobs. This is done by working on cementing right habits into their psyche. Doing the kind of things that make them become more successfully. They ask the right question such as what am I afraid of?. How is money, finances and self holding me back? How can I tap into my creativity? How do I go about pursuing my dream and where can I find necessary support to achieve my dream? How is my inability to focus, upbringing messages I received inhibiting my progress? Discipline Your Disappointments

Disappointments in life are real. One may not always escape it. But one’s ability to place disappointments in proper perspective is a major key to success in life. Even though there are ample opportunity to own what you desire, the truth is one does not always posses all his all his desires per time. The experience of the sower in the good Book is a great lesson to all. The Sower was ambitious and had good seeds. Expectedly he desired a bountiful harvest. In his first attempt, the birds of the air came to eat all his seed sown. Because of his believe in the Law Of Average, he disciplined his disappointments and kept sowing. His second attempt of at planting his seed fell on the rocky ground. The seed grew this time around but the rocky ground with hot weather choked life out of the precious seeds. The sower continued, the third attempt fell on the thorny ground. “Gosh” someone may say. The little, little distraction snuffed life out of the precious seeds. The hope of harvest was gone with all its expectations. But finally as it will always be, if one can discipline his disappointments, remain focus on the goal with end in view and a strong believe in the law of average, some of the fourth attempt fell on a good soil and bring forth 30%, 60% and 100% returns. If you can discipline your disappointments in your professional, career, business and personal life; stay headlong, it is so sure that your harvest will come. It will always come. No one that is truly successfully today cannot deny that the result they got were not a product of self-discipline in this regard.

Accept The Gift Of You

Many find it difficult to accept whom they are. I read in one of the daily Newspapers headlines something like "No one is perfectly beautiful in his/her own opinion".That there is something every individual wishes he/she has more of it.I.e. Hair, nose, long leg, big or small boobs. Thomas troward once said" You can not give what you do not have. This may account for why people do not accept the personality of others in their life or around them. They had problem accepting whom they are". When you look in the mirror and hate what you see, you need addiction to survive.If you do not like the main character in your story, then everything and everyone becomes a nightmare. But if you accept yourself 100%, then you trust yourself and whatever you want to manifest in the world will happen so say a sage. The truth is that you are good for your assignment. A client once asked me 'wheteher I wish for a new look', my response was instant ' my look is good for my assignment for know, because wishes are not horses'. Looks do change if you work on them and when you have the means; but when you waste time and you failed on your assignment per time, you may have lost something great. Realise that prosperity is not in the possession of things(great looks, money, fame,cars, property). But if you recognise that the supply of knowledge, open access to an inexhaustive store house of all that is good for all and that you are a storehouse of good quality irrespective of your shape; you can go places. I must add here that if it is posible and you have the means to enhance your look, by all means do. Great look enhances your self confidence.But before then accept the gift of you. The more you celebrate and praise yourself the more there is life to celebrate. Self acceptance is all about how much one values, loves and accept himselfs rather than how much he/she feels about his/her shortcoming or what others feel about you.

Given an average human disposition, we are at home with the known more than the unknown. Every attempt to bring disorder to the known inform of change often generates arguments. While we can not blame people for this, the fear of unknown are real so is the beauty of conquering new grounds. I f I must add that. Change is necessary. We must welcome change by all means. Otherwise life will be meaningless and boring. Change is Life. Change gives the much needed catalyst to get a grip for our own lives. Most times individuals don’t initiate it until it is unveiled by others, circumstances around them. The good thing at such times is that we realize our immense opportunities, benefits, possibilities that we never knew existed. Change forces us to reevaluate ourselves, forces to pay closer attention to the stuffs we are made of. The magnitudes of opportunities, experiences, profound knowledge we are exposed to are often unimaginable. Change is the energy we need to wake us up. Fortune always favours those who initiate the change instead of waiting for a change. Change helps us to stop sleeping and to awake to the precious opportunity of life.

So when you are given sack letter, embrace the change. It may be the beginning of new things. When your girlfriend/boyfriend no again, embrace it with good heart; when a friend says goodbye, when you lost out in a business deal, suffer disappointment. Change the course of your life for better, stop crying. Untold opportunities await you outside there.

Keep The Fire Aglow

Self-esteem is the way we individually carry ourselves. The way we are perceived in our own eyes. There are two major ways of manifesting Self esteem. One is high self-esteem while the other is low self-esteem. Low self esteem affects us so much in our daily lives that we should delete the virus out of our systems as fast as possible. Not only that, we must install the anti-low self esteem software in our system. It is that bad. To be honest with my community, it was just recently that I understood that Anger is a manifestation of low self-esteem. (I stand to be corrected though).Anger is a situation that is often provoked when we feel that our self esteem has been tampered with. A man with the right attitude will never surrender leadership to mediocrity and debase himself by shouting at the top his voice, beat his wife, abuse people under whatever premise. The good news is that low self esteem can be dealt with. Here are some of my own views, responses are welcome: 1.Work on your insecurities: Enhance what you can. This should include the way you look. If you do not know how to pronounce some words, ask your friends or look up the words in the Dictionary. Even if someone provokes you, you don’t have to shout at him/her. Work on your temper. “Talk to your leg” is another alternative.

2.Remember no one cares unless you do: People are not out looking for your weaknesses, they do have loads themselves. People don’t care much about your weakness as much as you think. Just ensure you are adding value to their lives and you are making conscious efforts to minimize the weaknesses, and that such weaknesses are not immoral and inimical to human existence. Don’t turn the search engines on your own weakness.

3.Everyone has their own fears: So be concerned about what others’ fear and that will shift attention from you, raise your ego and confirm that you are a better lot than you think.

4.Create your own 30 second pep talk: look at what is working in your own life and create a 30 seconds pep talk around it. Don’t say you don’t have. That is great misconception.

5.Be engrossed in a worthy goal that energizes you: There must be something that is giving you a reason to wake up. You don’t have to attempt suicide now. There is something you know you have delivered before, start the chain again; your self esteem will rise like a sleeping giant.

Everyone who considers himself as having no admirable qualities usually develop low self esteem. I am so sure you are not

Relationship is essential to human existence. The creator knows the implication of isolation and that was why he created Male and female. Relationship must be consciously established not because of what to gain but also what to contribute. As an individual, you must not get to a stage where you think you don’t need anybody again. Even if you are number one citizen in the world (United Nations’ Secretary General). To get there and retain your seat, you need powerful connection with power that is. You did not get there just because you are the smartest guy in this world or you are the best when it comes to International relations, diplomacy, strategy or what have you. You need someone or a nation to recommend you, The country that nominated you has to do a lot of powerful lobbying etc. If I must give you some tips, I will give the followings as starting point 1. Take genuine interest in others: if you focus all the attention on yourself, you may not have anyone to relate will every single individual love it when you give them a little respect and when you care about their well-being. 2. Be of service to people. Help people as much as you can. Everything is not about money. Little assistance here and there will go a long way to establish a rapport with a total stranger.

3. Consistency: This is a major factor in relationship building. Don’t wear the clothes of the devil that will create confusion for people who are looking at you from other sides. Many times, we do not have what we want; we don’t always win every battle no matter how hard we try. But the secret of successful people is in maximizing the opportunity in the now. I know that many find themselves in jobs they do not like for now. There are also high probabilities of many students who find themselves reading courses they do not like. For all this, excuses abound for not giving it their best shots. There is no strong excuse for not performing at the best. There are choices, you can pull out or stay and give it your best shot pending the time you will have what you are looking for. I have been a victim before, so I could help. Through wrong counsel, I went in for a basic degree I hated with passion. I told my parent I wanted to pull out even though they were not the architect of my undoing. It was a friend. My parent said I should continue and that it was possible to become anything after my first degree. I discussed with my Head of department to please sign my change of course form at the end of year one. But he refused on the ground that he could not sign-out his best student. Inside this dilemma, I made up my mind to give my best shot despite the fact that this was not what I desired to do. I must confess it was a four year under torture. At the end, I came out as the best student with three awards and the aftermath of this had given me several chances of meeting some individuals that moved my life up to higher places. My encouragement today is that you give it your best shot or move out of that job, school, course, trade. What is worth doing is worth giving the best of you. You don’t have to keep complaining about that job, marriage, relationship. No one forces you into it and you can work it out or move out. Don’t die with regret, while you are still there; give it the best shot you can. You will never regret you do.

Raise The Bar

My guiding Principle is that I am constantly raising the limits of my abilities- Christopher kolade (Nigeria High commissioner To U.K). Christopher Kolade is one man I respected so much. He is a perfect Image of an ideal Nigerian I hold in my mindset. While I ma not disputing that we still have people like Prof. Dora Akinyuli who are determined to keep us sane. The challenge most of us have is that we rest on our own laurels. Forgetting, that the enemy of best is better. We look at others and give ourselves a nod like the proverbial lizard that fell from the wall that nod and said’ if nobody praises me, I deserve a personal kudos. There is a great difference between satisfaction and contentment and this is where most of us miss the line. Satisfaction is the feeling of thanksgiving and a will to move ahead and forget the present achievement so that you may discover another shore. Contentment is a complete imprisonment of inner power to continue. All of us must realize that we must be contented with what we have per time and the achievement we have made but we must not allow that to make us become completely satisfied that we don’t want to move ahead again. That you are somewhere by the virtue of your position, title today where everyone is at your beck and call is not a reason to stop growing. When you stop growing, you start stinking. I must say I am contented with where I am today but I am not completely satisfied to the level that I will not continue to raise the bar of my achievement. You need to get to the level where you are contented. This will help you to appreciate who you are and then help you to look inward the more for those abilities that you are hoarding, wasting. From contentment, you must be satisfied to a level you will give yourself a kudos but the line of “unholy” satisfaction must not be crossed. At the cross of the line, you would have surrender leadership to mediocrity as well as permanently lock the door of further achievements that are available. My encouragement is that you constantly raise the bar of your achievement by gauging your performance against your inner potential instead of looking elsewhere for your affirmation.

I have been away for sometimes. So welcome back after the long holiday. Here the holiday started from Friday till yesterday. It was an opportunity to relax the nerves. In the bid to do this, something happened that opened my mind more to the maxim “what you see is what you get”. It is a real life experience that has strengthened my belief. A close family member who lives in the same city I reside came to spend the weekend with us. The gist is that tap runs all the day round in the part of the city where I live. whereas tap water is a luxury in her own end. Even though, we live in the same Metropolitan city. Because of the fact that tap runs every hour of the day, I am not always concerned about whether the tap will stop running or I will not have water to use when required. So I normally do not buy heavy tanks as reservoirs. When she came in, the tap stopped running for few hours, she was amazed that we did not have water tanks filled with water before the water stopped running. I told her that there was no need for that as the tap will soon be running. For your information I have been living in this part of the city for four years, so I should know better. All the day through, the water refused to run, so my Aunty became bordered and she began to take me in a class that was not necessary. Because I am absolutely sure that before I would finish the one in the container, water would have started running again. As expected, water started running in the midnight. She woke up when she heard that the water had started running and filled the few containers in the house quickly. To me, there was no need for this because I was so certain that water would not stop running till day break. The import of the story is that we were both right in our thinking. I was thinking in terms of abundance/surplus because of my understanding of the system, while she was thinking of shortage based on her experience and mindset. So it is possible for two people living in the same environment to think differently based on their beliefs and experiences. But whatever it is, look at the cup from “half-full” instead of half-empty perspective. The resources on the Earth can go round. Ocean will not be moved because dry season is fast approaching, the brooks and little rivers can.

Integrity is an issue in today's world.Many professed Integrity before opportunities are opened to them but as soon as they are offered the cake, they mess up their own characters.If you are in doubt, listen to politicians before elections and compare performance with the actual after they have won.The irony of life is that whatever you gain by reputation, your character has the ability to detroy. Because integrity, character stands at the foundation of any building.

I often say that no one should say he is not a thief until he is given opportunity to trade with millions without any rules for a year.If at the end of the year every Penny,Kobo is accounted for, then you may lay claim to being a man of integrity. I mean, where you can account for every miscellaneous spendings, logistics without any accounting technical language.

Someone in a blog I read today defines Integrity to mean 'treating people right. Integrity means giving your word and keeping it. It has been written that integrity will protect you, and that integrity will be rewarded'.Acting with integrity is something we should take seriously.

Integrity to me is dependability, reliability and surety of man's character , words and actions.

How far can you go to defend your words and actions? Just because of a meal, people destroy their hard earned names. Some can not stand the opposite sex, promises are broken at will just because of beauty or position they think will advance their causes.

When you are not known to be a person of Integrity, there are certain opportunities you will miss in Life and if peradventure you get some, you will lose it in a matter of time.My encouragement today as we celebrate Easter all over the world this weekend, let us remember that someone gave his word to die for the sake of others and he kept it . His word cost him his life.

Absolute Security

There was a time in African community when trade by barter was the order of the day। Even though I did not have the opportunity to witness the era, I was told you could leave your wares in an open place and put the amount of money you wanted to sell it by the side. Every one going by without that amount would not pick the item even if they wished they could have it. Trust, security and good names were paramount in those days. Time has changed and this is not the purpose of my blog today.

I was having a conversation with a friend few days ago, she was of the opinion that without absolute security and guarantee she would not want to leave her job for another offer। The reason behind this is that a bird in the hand is better than thousand in the bush.As far as I am concern,I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing like absolute guarantee/security in this world again except a connection with your creator. My conclusion came from a believe I have about sun glasess/shades.I have discovered that even with sunhades, sun still always find a little entry into your eyes. Ii believe as human , we must do our calculations, we must try our best so that we can say I did everything humanly possible about this. Peradventure the scheme fails.

To excel you must be ready to double the rate at which you fail. There is no longer security in any position, someone may change the rule tomorrow. This is the reason you must do everything possible today while you are on that seat. You may build your wall and feel that you are secured, it is just a blink of an eye before you see that wallcrashing.Wall Trade Centre is a good example in this regard.

Don't hold on to what you should give out just because of the fear of tomorrow. You may eventually lose it to a cause that you hated much. Take a calculated risk today and step up your own life instead of waiting for the right weather. Such weather never arrives. Use whatever you have now because this is the best time to move. The perfect security and guarantee may never come your way. Behind every inaction is a false security. Don't be caught dead with inaction

Accessing Your Greatness

African Mentality of greatness is weird.But we must appreciate where we are now. Things are changing for the better.Only that we need to do more. The myth about a man born with greatness and that greatness is associated with a particular lineage is becoming a thing of the past fast. Many from humble backgrounds are holding high and mighty posts in the land.There is no excuse foranyone to remain in the gutter. Aparticular advert for a popular beer in Nigeria ends with the following words m"...In every man is a drop of greatness". Quite a great encouragent to all. For anyone to access his greatness therefore, there a need to identify what are his/her unique giftings and talents.There is a package in everyone put there by the creator to cause an individual to access any level of greatness he/she so desire. The challenge with an individual is not that the gift box is not there, but a negative believe that that gift is too common to move him or her to a desired haven.Around 2003, I nearly gave up on my dream because of a "fatal" business mistake I made. I was downcasted so much that I almost became a victim of depression and associated challanges .It was becoming practicaly impossible for anyone to console me. In the midst of this, someone with a heart of gold sent me a text message that I have refused to delete from my phone. It reads "A dream is a seed with enough life life to cause it to germinate,no matter what the circumstances may be, let your dream grow". It was a powerful sentence then. There and then I decided that even though I have lost a great sum of money, I still have some inherent gifts within me.My mental faculty is functioning at the optimal level. Your greatness lies within your gifts and talents.The good Book says " A man's gifts make room for him and place him with great men". Only you and your creator determine the level of your greatness by the amount of pressure you put on your gift box to deliver. Put the lid off your gift box, chart your course and plan your moves. what will it takes to sharpen,translate that raw potentials of your to internationally accepted finished products? You alone can answer. A positive answer and action in this regard will give you a room at the top. Stop wishing like that young lady wished for someone to help her fulfil her dreams. I am sure you have watched that bank's advert before, if you live in Nigeria. She is yet to see somebody to fulfil her yawnings.

Rat Race

Many times we are involved in "rat race" without knowing.We look at our friends and we want to catch up with the Jones without regard to our personal potentials and assignments. We abuse our potentials just because we thought the best way to live life is to be like other persons around us. These persons may be our former classmates, childhood friends, long distance relations.

It is human to assume that we are not catching up fast, that our progress in life is not moving like some of our old colleagues. At the end of day, what we have is nothing but a demeaning fight,race that will not utilise our potentials.

It is high time that we changed our perception about what others are doing or not doing in order to build our own empire.I must confess that when you view yourself as an empire that needs time to be built. You will be patient with yourself.The kind of the empire you are trying to build is different from any other and when you subject your empire building to the whim and caprices of others, you will often make unnecessary changes to the structure that may be fatal at the end.

Dont look at the Jones, look in- ward to determine where you are going and then analyse the best way to get there instead of surrendering leadership to mediocrity by looking arounds for parametres to judge your own empire.

The best measurement should come from within and not from without. when there is overconcentration on the without, you are no longer whom you are supposed to be.Be The Best. Have a terrific weekend

Fear is the bedrock of every inaction. Many will not make an attempt in life just because they feel they are not qualified as if there is a standard somewhere that shows that only selected few are born with a star to succeed.

I don't know who misinformed some people. I understand that sometime it may be one authority figure i.e parents, mentors, teacher, coach among others. When you refuse to go after your goal, you are missing a big part of your life.Your life become an empty space that is occupied by space. Every excuse we give for not following up on our dreams, desires raises an accusation against us.

As an individual, you can not afford to sabotage your life in the name of fear. Confront your fear headlong and you will realise that your fear is even afraid of you. "There is lion outside so say a lazy man". Whoever told you that there is a lion out there that is aimed at tearing you alone apart is a false prophet. Please help me tell such individual that they have no such right.

People with less skills, qualities compare to yours are out thre doing great work and smiling home with greater accomplishment. Meanwhile you are still waiting for the right condition which may never arrive.

Go after your dreams today no matter your challenges and you will be surprise the kind of accomplishment you can make if you D. A. R .E it. Join the race now. Don't end your life with regrets of what you could have achieved but you do not attempt.

Coronation Day? Don't Wait Too Long

Many wait for their coronation days when all they need is to take steps in that direction. History is replete of many lowly individuals who had pursued their desires and achieved them. What I have learnt overtime about those who would not wait for the coronation day to come but take a decision to be crowned whether the world gives them a chance or not is that they followed specific, known and open strategy that can be used by anyone to get crowned. Here are some of the things they did. 1.They set high standard: Don’t be afraid to ask largely. Set a higher standard for yourself and make a great demand from your energy and everyone you meet. Even if you cannot reach the level, it will affect you positively in the way you see yourself and the way others see you. 2.They are bold: There is no room at the top for the timid stuff. No one gives a chance to be crowned for a timid fellow. You must be courageous. 3. Be careful of Anger: They understand that anger is a manifestation of insecurity. A secured man/woman conceals his anger. 4.They choose great opponent to fight: This is “ David and Goliath strategy’. Go after the greatest person in the building, by choosing a great opponent, you are creating a larger than life appearance of greatness. 5. Give gifts to people above you: I cannot throw my cup of water into the ocean does not apply here. Giving gifts to people above you, patrons have several meaning. One of them is that you are sending a signal that you are equal even though he has more than you. 6.Authority: Be a reservoir of certain knowledge. Be unique in displaying this knowledge. In all your doings show that you deserve to be a king. Even though you are not one in reality. But one must observe the law of balance in all this regard. Remember you are not radiating arrogance but confidence. 7.Calculate your moves: Don’t be in a hurry. Hurrying betray a lack of self-control over yourselves and over Time. Become a detective of right timing; stand back when the time is not ripe. Don’t wait for your coronation day particularly when you are from a lowly background. No one will remember you. You need to wear the crown first. Show that you deserve the crown and then people will give you a date for your coronation.

I am A Graduate, So what?

The title of my today’s blog is an inscription I saw on the doors of my university after graduation. I was to go and collect my basic degree certificate then. I thought about it. How could anyone ‘demean’ a thing I worked hard to get. I felt disgusted about such an inscription then. I took solace in the fact that many of them that were working in that office too had graduated and they must meant what they were trying to say. Today I understood better. So many interpretations that can be given to that inscription. Coupled with this, I read something yesterday and I think it is worth sharing to my about to graduate or graduate audience. One, a degree does not guarantee a better job even though it will be considered necessary. I remember those days, as recounted to me by my former boss while I was doing the one-year compulsory service somewhere here in Nigeria, my boss told me that if you were about to graduate in the early 60s till late 70s, employers would be on queue to seek your appointment for a posh job. But we all know the realities on ground today. Gone were those days. To escape this, you as a graduate must learn to develop marketable skills that will push you ahead of others. Be available for internship, volunteering jobs while on campus. This will help you to master your own destiny while others are still looking for theirs. Two, the earlier you find what you love to do and pursue it the better for you. I wasted a couple of years doing what I did not like in the name of ‘just above broke’ ( JOB). I hope you learn a lesson. Never give an excuse of lack of money. Money will come if you pursue your passion. As we know majority of what you learnt in school will not be relevant to the real world. So use the time immediately after graduation to identify and follow after your dream. If you were able to do this before graduation, it will be an excellent thing. Three develop and learn how to interact with people. Relationship is core to success. Meet new people and be concerned about others. Show genuine interest in the development of others. You must maintain social network, get to know people in different industries and keep the old contacts viable. You may one day need old buddies as well as new one for one thing or the other.

The other time I blogged about value added education, I did mentioned that education is not just what we pick-up in a normal classroom setting.It should be gleaned from all spheres of life. Be that as it may, I strongly believe that our educational system is failing us in a big way. Majority of what we are taught in school have no relevance to the challenges we face immediately we are out of the gate of the school.Students are daily loaded with archaic information that will not be of much value as soon as they move out of the lecture rooms.In some schools, what is called Engineering department is nothing but a ghost of it. Students are prepared to be more of a consumer-oriented lots than innovators.Too much of 'theories that are no longer helpful are distributed as daily meals' in form of lectures. For education to be relevant, I hereby suggest major things that should form the curriculum. Students at all levels should be exposed to classes on Personal finance. An average pupil/student/undergraduate today do not know anything about money management and acquisition.Most kids from affluent homes use expensive stuffs without a lesson on how to save, earn a living, invest in stocks as soon as they can understand that. I also believe that there should be a standard curriculm to be followed on how to communicate effectively.This has become a serious issue in our society.Simple courtsey is now a thing of the past. People now take one another for garnted. Small children now talk to a adults any how. Common respect is now a forgone alternative, a price we pay for westernization.In addition to the above, I think we should still inculcate in our school curriculums what I called Social skills.The society we find ourselves today, particularly in the urban centres/mega cities is calling for a social restructuring of our mental faculties. Our relationship habits is Zero. we relate officially and it is amazing that people who live in the same compound do not get to know one another.People prefer to watch Television 24/7 when not doing anything than to meet with a new person except for business purposes.Other thing that I believe is very important is Time Management. This is important to us here as African. "African time" must be dealt with. Thank God we are changing very fast but I believe there is a room for improvement. If I must conclude this piece, I think we would add much value to our educational system if we add Marketing/sales/negoti ation skills into our curriculum. We all need this skill in our daily interaction with one another.

Health And wealth

Last week , I started a series on wealth. I stated in that discussion that our definition of wealth is faulty and there are several angles to the word "wealth".I discussed riches as one of the angles to wealth. I maintained that riches is not the only definition of wealth. This week I will focus attention on Heatlh. It is generally agreed that Health is wealth and if you want to doubt this, you just need to be critical ill for just one day. This will give you better persepective on how to be alive and well. If you have money as much as you desire and you don't have a healthy body, you may not enjoy the full benefits of that body. Much of the money that you have may be spent on regaining that wealth(Health) you never valued. You need good health to remain on top(that does not mean that you can not get to the top without it). But a person with high energy with a will can do a lot with his healthy body than others. Someone captured this essence well by saying" when you lose money, you have lost nothing significant, when you lose your health, you have lost something exceptionally significant but if you lose your life without a relationship with your Maker, you have lost everything". If you have sound health and high energy, don't lose it to cancer, Hiv/Aids, stress, unwarranted tension etc. These can be through individual's carelessness and peer pressure that are results of abuse, drug use etc . One other way that one may damage this wealth (health) is to give in to depression. Depression is not a weakness or a character flaw, but a serious illness that causes changes in one's body, mood, and thoughts. It may result in feelings of emptiness, crying without any apparent reason, and loss of pleasure from daily life. At its worst, depression can lead to suicide. Each year, about 19 million American adults are affected by depression (NIMH, 1999). Depression manifests itself through a variety of symptoms. The most common ones are a deep feeling of sadness and a marked loss of interest or pleasure in activities. (Source: Healthy campus) . My admonition, take care of your health. Health is wealth. Every one wants a perfect environment to operate without any serious imput to such an ideal environment.Nothing goes for nothing so say a popular maxim. If we must all enjoy an ideal environment, we must be willing to contribute our own qoutas to the development of such desired status. The problem with our society is that we all know what needed to be done, but no one want to take the bull by the horn. we are all desperate for a change.But the fact that there is no ideal society without any imput from the individuals that make up the whole society is always requires a desired attention. The Nigerian situation that we find ourselves today demands that one man should confront the oligarchy, speak out against every form of oppression, injustice etc. Will you be the the person whom Nigeria(ns) have been waiting for. Let us do our parts , so we can live in a peaceful and desired haven.I am working out my part.

The Bigger The Head

Yesterday i heaved a sigh of relief when i chatted with a friend on an issue i considered important for now.In the course of our chats i discovered that you dont have to envy anyone no matter how much progress you think they are making. A guy told me certain individuals are having a good day without any known challenge and he wishes to be like the JONES.This i refused to believe because i have come to realise that no one is immune to challenges no matter how seemingly smooth their lives look like to an outsider. Until one has the chance to sit down with such individual(s) and ask questions,then you will know that things dont usaully appear as they are from afar. I have come to these conclusion about ten years ago. I had a speaking engagement somewhere here in Lagos, Nigeria. As fate will have it , i have a woman i always believed was having the best of times in every area of her life as one of the audience. She used good cars, her kids were going to the best school, wore any kinds of clothes she wanted to. I was to talk on why apperances were never realities. I spoke powerfully that day from personal experiences.When i was in secondary school we used to deceive 'girls" that my group have what it took to be the happening group in the school.We would do all manner of hard labour to gather money and when we got to school, we would spend money as if those cash were given to us by our parents. Meanwhile we went through hell to take possession of those little change. We eventually were able to succeed to foster a wrong impression. I concluded that individual should know how to handle their own challenges without wishing for others' so called prosperity. I used several other instances. At the end of the talk, the woman i respected so much walked up to me and accused me of debasing her in the face of others. That i was actually talking about her. That she was just wearing the clothes and all the stuffs that i saw, what she was going through was too much a load than the outward appearance people were looking at. The import of the story, when you think others are having a funfilled day and you are the only one going through it all, remember, THE BIGGER THE HEAD, THE BIGGER OR HEAVIER THE HEADACHE. Dont be deceived. Appearances are not always the reality.

Heighten Your Effects

Life is all about effect and impact you make on others. But the level of impacts/effects we can make is created consciouly and not by impulse. At the beginning of your choice of making impact/effect, you need to be there always. That means that you should not be scarce, you must be accessible to all. Because what is seen is appreciated. You must concsiouly work to make necessary impacts that you want to create as early as possible. The effect that you are making must be evident when you are not there. If after you are gone, no one misses you, the implication is that you are not that effective. To heighten your effect over time, you must move out of circulation. Too much circulation makes the price of a good goes down.The more people see you after you have made the effect, the more common you now appear. You must learn when to leave. CREATE VALUE THROUGH SCARCITY. Dont go to same places where you dont have an assignement regularly. You dont create or heighten your effect that way.

Today on "BRAND "N"EXPO" on Times cable Television, our focus is on how to create a market for your brand. I started by saying that Brand exists because it meets a need.I later defined what is called market because until an individual understands what market means, they may not know how to move forward. To a lay man, a market is a platform that brings two parties into an exchange of equivalent values. This meaning presupposes that both have what others want, the exchange of which must be done voluntarily and both must be able to communicate with each other. A market also signifies a medium that brings a group of people who have common requirements, who also have resources to satisfy their requirements and are willing to exchange the required resources for the satisfaction of other. I conclude by saying that as long as a product/brand can satisfy the above conditions, it can always get a market. The presenter asked for man advise for a product that was just introduced without these requirements and what advice can i give on how to market the brand. My answer was that as long as the individual just assumed there is a market without prior research, it will take him longer hours, days,months before he will have a breakthrough. Nonetheless, there may be hope if he is willing to start the whole process by identifying his target market.I also said that to create a market for any brand/product, we may consider the following necessities: 1. Choices: The fundermental Truth.

I was watching a programme on a television yesterday night. It was a drama that featured two young ladies of low virtues who have decided to take to the street because they felt that their parents could not help them much financially. But it got to a scene that the two began to question the rationality behind their choices. They both concluded that they had no other choice. Because their opinions represent what some ladies will say,given that condition; i can not but shake my head with anger. Their choices had been based on their level of knowledge about choices and this informed while i am writing this today. First, it is true that a person is not always able to find every dish he wants from the menu. second fact is that nonetheless, usually he will find enough of a variety to quench both his hunger and his desire. I have also realise that while a choice has been made out of the menu that is available, and one has started eating, he should obey the old axiom and never bite more than he can chew.This leads to the fourt fundermental which is, one should take heathly mouthfuls, for any food worth eating should be eaten, not toyed with or nibbled in a finicky fashion. You dont have to complain about the choices you have made because there other available options and if you have decided to follow a line of choice, you should held yourself liable for the repercutions. Agreed that the game of choices are "dicey" , there is nothing as futile as saying someone pushed you into it. You could have gone the other ways if you dont want to be an accomplice to something that does not tally with your future. Think and make right choices today

There is a law that is widely accepted to be true.Even thoughh man still have a problem accepting its validity.It is called the law of opposite or the law of compensation.It is also commonly referred to as law of polarity.This law states that there is no evil that happens without an equivalent good in it.For everything you have missed, you have gained something else. except if you do not care to look at it. With every influx of new light, there is a new danger. The more money you get, the higher the numbers of responsibilities you are now given.There is nothing like true freedom.every freedom comes with greater responsibility.Physiologists have obsrved that no creature is a favourite, but a certain compensation balances every gifts and every defects. a surplus given to one part is paid out of reduction from another part of the same creature. Every adversity, every unpleasant circumstance, every failure, every physical pain carries with it a seed of an equivalent benefitso say Napoleon Hill.Understanding this law help an individual to look out for the good in any negative circumstance and to be in search for it good so that the individual can enjoy the benefits in any single mistake he makes. I have observed the nature for the few years of my adult life.Unlike man who controls everything and seems to be in the centre of the creatures' attention; man's life is not is anyway smooth, carefree, warm as well as pleasant as nature wants the man's life to be. There are many lessons i have learnt just observing my environment. I have risen early before the break of the days to take a walk around.Particularly when i was on campus. During those days while others are still sleeping, i have tried to observe what make the 'mother' nature so quiet, serene and calm when things are going wild in the man's world. One i have learnt that nature obeys the law of non-resistance, that is the law of 'what is, is'. Nature expects the weather to be favourable but if it does not, nature adjusts to what is available in terms of nutrient and harness the little to thrive. Man on the other hand, will always resist, complain, bemoan his fate , argue with their maker for allowing the changes in weather without consultation with him. Nature does not confuse, complicate itself with any fearful belief concerning its existence. Nature keeps things simple, flexible and adapt faster. Man on the other hand, often keep a rigid mind not wanting to change, when the only thing that is permanent in life is Change. Nature concentrates its energy to serve its purpose. There is no scattering of its power. It sticks to it all through the season to provide man with beauty, love etc.Nature knows its season and is never in an hurry to break fundermental rules that guide it existence. On ther other hand,man is always in a haste, man breaks rules and go against the principles that govern his own existence and wonder why things are not working his own way. Man gets worry so much as if in worrying he can adds a year to his age or turn around things to his own desire without due process and arranged timing.Nature gives its beauty and shades to add meaning to man's life but most men hoard the little they have, believing that until they get all they can, can all they can and sit on the can, life may not go the way it should. Let all men learn from nature. Go out early in the morning, later in the day and observe great lessons you have not taken time to learn. Your life will be better off if you will.

Everyway leads somewhere. Every path is sure to end somewhere. What is important is that an individual must know where he is going or else all roads lead to nowhere for the man who follws tha crowd.There is need to determine the course of your life before you begin any trip at all. You dont have to get half way before you consider the implications of the path you are following. Following the path of no resistance make a river crooked.

In determining our paths, we must consider the result(s) we intend to achieve. Movement for movement sake is the highest form of insanity. Results are the best measurement of human progress, not conversation, not explanations nor justifications. Finding excuse for following the crowd is a sign of weakness on the path of the guy who finds one.To have great results, we must belong to the few who through wise decision chart their courses before the vogage.

Even while on the way, individual is bound to meet obstacles, but a man of determination will always find his way through. There is need to be committed to getting to the end of the journey instead of staying half way.

In determining what way to follow, i have these advice thah i gleaned from somewherewhich has really blessed my life. They are worth considering in whatever road we intend to take at last.

One,it is expedient for one to sk himself what am i trying to accomplish? Knowing what you want to accomplish will serve as apointer to the best route to follow. Having answered that, the next question is "why do i think what i am trying to accomplish is possible?". Realising that that all we have to do when impossibilities stare at our faces is to raise our sights and see possibilities.

You may then need to consider what causes you to think that there are impossibilities in the way.Peradventure, such imaginary impossibilities really exist, consider what you stand to gain or lose following that path.

In following your chosen path, do you consider such factors as your age, stamina or health has any bearing on the outcome and conversely can i suffer any adverse physical effect by battling the idea or project through? For me i am aware that when the coach want under fifteen to feature in a football tournament , i cannot be numbered among them. I am over fifteen.The other factor is, can i utilize my time efforts, energies to a better advantage on a different route?

If eventually, i have truthfully answered these questions and i am now on a chosen route, i must learn to run from lazy and crooked people for in every route, we will find all manner of people. It is wisdom to know whom to company with in our chosen paths other wise we will suffer untold miseries if we are not careful.

Happiness As Butterfly

Life is full of fun if we decide to view it that way. My charge today is to ask a question ‘Is Happiness a Butterfly?’ This question has become so pertinent in the face of the way we carry ourselves. Many say’ I am not just happy with myself today’. What occurs to me is to think of happiness as a butterfly that goes around without staying permanently in one place. Every one, even philosophers agreed that the ultimate goal of life is to be happy. For most people happiness has become what we daily pursue without any hope of laying hold on. Someone has said ‘when all is said and done, success without happiness is the worst kind of failure’. Many agreed that happiness depends on what happens, but the true meaning of happiness depends on who you are and not upon your place of abode. For true happiness a man must make his choice to be happy irrespective of what happens. To let your happiness depend on where you are, or what people around you do or not is a sign of ultimate weakness. The only thing that is required to be happy is a sense of being. The fact that an individual is part of a wonderful world, he needs to be grateful for all the reasons that he thinks are not working for you. Be happy for the person you are and the person you see in the mirror when you hold one. When you look in the mirror and hate what you see, you need addiction to survive. Real happiness is not postponed till you acquire all that you need, nor is it an agreement between others; it is a personal act of sacrificing the self that believes others are responsible for the conflict you are experiencing with self. Waiting for a day to come as a result of what others do is like hoping that you can quench your thirst by watching someone else drink water. Be Happy.

Reinforcement is an engineering term that has to do with support,enablement, empowerment among others words. In every human relationship, there is a need to ensure that we daily reinforce our individual contributions either verbally or by our actions. Each time we are reinforced when we do something good,there is usually an immediate positive response from the individual that is reinforced. As an individual, we can reinforce ourselves by acknowledging the little achievements we have made.When a task become daunting, set a target to reinforce yourself by buying yourself a soft drink at least when you have covered a little ground. The energy to continue will be released when you reinforced yourself. It is easier to go about the job of improving our strategies in a positive frame of minds. There is a need to provide oneself with rewards for success and penalties for failure. Many times we all take ourselves for granted. Particularly in a marriage relationship. The husband assumes that the wife should know that his loves is unwavering without a verbal pronouncements of such. Friends take each other for granted and assume that the other party (ies) owe him/her as a form of gratitude. Some parents take their wards for granted because they assume that the wards owe them a form of appreciation for footing their bills. So the wards must bring good results whether there is a form of reinforcement in terms of good rewards for coming out as the best. Some wards take their parents for granted by saying that all the efforts of their parents to give them quality education is nothing because it is their duties to do.Why not say thank you to someone today, while not send a card to someone today even if you dont have the cash. Why not give a shout out to some one today because it may reinforce them to do more. Non-financial reinforcements work well sometimes when you drum your verbal praise where others important people that recipients love will hear it. If you can, financial reinforcement in terms of gifts, presents etc work greater magic. Take action today, send a love note, a thank you letter to someone you know you are owing. You will never regret that you do.

Today on "Brand &Expo" on cable Times Television (TTV), our focus is on Brand identity. I defined Brand identity as distingushable characteristics that is consistent, enduring and predictable messages, perception. Brand identity is important because everything is judged by its appearance. What is not seen counts for nothing. Brand must never allows itself get lost in the crowd, because it will be buried in oblivion. Brand identity must be packaged in a way that makes the brand to stand out. All the visual perception of brand identity must obey the law of unity.The colour must agree with what the pay off is all about, as well as the logo, symbols, text/typerfaces.Brand identity must make the brand a magnet of attention by being colourful without necessarily being loud. Brand identity goal(s) is to increase brand's memomarability and uniqueness.I personally encourage that the house colour should not exceed two. Infact one is better.Colour and symbol must also be chosen with highest regards to what the brand's environment believe they are. For example a popular electronic has used the image of a monster that signal evil, devil within Nigeria environment. This is bound to have a negative effect on the brand's market in Nigeria.

The other issue we discussed centre on the role of brand consultant to their clients or employers of service.My opinion is that a consultant is not just in the name alone. He/she must know his trade.But the problem in our society is that many brand owners will not listen or engage quality brand expert in all the process. The evil of this is that when the idea/brand now faces some foundational challenges, the brand may soon be rested like millions that had become history.Because the fire brigade approach do not work most times.

I must add that even non- profit brands need a brand expert imput if they must stand out from the crowd.

Personal Evolution

The word "evolution" has caused a lot of arguments in many circles. These cut across religious, scientific and many more. While it is not my intention to go into any etymological study of the word, i will restrict myself to the basic meaning which defines evolution 'as the basic development from one stage to another'. As an individual, you don not need to accept the roles the society foist on you. There is need to evolve your own being. By forging your own identity, one that commands attention and never bores the audience. You need to be the master of your own image/life rather than letting others define it for you. When you do this, your presence will be felt, enhanced and your character will seem larger than life. The way you carry and position yourself will go a long way on how you are treated, in the long run, appearing vulgar or common will make people disrespect you. You need to work on your moods, humble background's limitations. If you need to become a king, a king respects himself and inspires the same sentiments in others. By acting regally, forging ahead despite the odds, you make yourself seem destined for a crown. An individual seeking relevance must be overcomed with his self belief, even while it appears that you are practising a kind of deception. Act like a king, you are likely to be treated as one. With this knowledge, it is up to you to set up your own price. Ask for a less and that is what you get. Ask for more, however, and you send a signal that you are worth a king's ransom. Even those who wiil turn you down will respect you for your confidence and that respect will eventually pay off in a way that will beat your imagination. In everything you do, show that you deserve to be a king even though you are not one in reality for now. The secret is that Perception is more than reality at long last.Believe that thing changes. Doors do open. Every goodbye is not always so. Sometimes it has 'here am i.' No position is permanently fixed. United Nation's permanent seats may soon collapse.Who knows?Conditions are now warranting this. Dont give up on your dreams. I see a new day...bright and colourful. see you tomorrow.

Only few of us understand the real value of education.All we think is to go to school and get certificate in return for our efforts.

The real value of education are often neglected and reduced to ordinary certificates. The more reason why we have people who cheat in their exams.Most of the time there is a need for a paradigm shift.We need to question ourselves what should be the major reason,moving and meaningful idea,moving power and vital force that should drive our craving for education.

This is because over the years, our persepectives about education has been shallowed, constricted and lacking in real substance.Education should be a serach for meaning and actualisation of self-discovery,perpetual reshaping to realise one's own best self, to be the person one could be.so say a sage

When this meaning is properly analysed, it goes beyong acquiring certificates for the sake of certificates.it goes beyond formal education alone. It is experienced at home, office, religious places, recreational centres etc.It cut across emotional, character and personality building. This is deeper than surface scratching of just going to a formal school that mostly lack total development of personality. The formal education concentrate only on intellectual capacity building which neglects stuffs that makes a total man/woman.

Education should not be compartmentalised. Not only things that happens in the formal classroom alone,it should happen every waking moment, it should not be seperated from man's business of life.

Education must be relevant to everyone, everywhere-at all ages and in all conditions of life. This is my opinion of a value added education. Others opinions are welcome.

I am becoming so certain that when a man/woman turns to his/her intuitiveness, he stands a better chance of making it in a big way. No matter how long it takes; than flying through the plane of competition. When one comes to the room of personal intuitiveness, innovation becomes his bedmate that supports his achievement faster than competition. Taking personal initiative is the opposite of competition,initiative is a sure accomplice of free mind. It is standing to confront situations as they arise like the thrust of a swordsman without a thought of subjugation of a perceived enemy. Someone says 'one of the basic,emotional attitudes that underlies competition is the feeling of hostility and there is no such thing as friendly competition. All competition is hostile.' While i have a little reservation about such declaration,i cannot but agree with this notion in a very high degree. The spirit of competition often grows out of a desire to achieve a position of dominance over others. The desire for dominance is often a result of wanting to exploit other person(s) either psychologically or physically. When the desire for exploit is fully matured,it puts us in a cross-purpose with others. It distrupts cooperation and disturbs other by either active or perceive means. we must note that we can never achieve much of our potential abilities in the climate of fear that competition breeds. Competition breeds dependence on what others will do. Dependence leads to fear,fear leads to comparisons. Comparison leads to competition and competition eventually destroys us by degrading us to imitation,conformity/mediocrity. When in actual fact, there is room for originality. Originality is the highest calling on our lives. Total originality is elusive if we travel through the plane of competition. Spirit of competition is a product of wrong believe that you need to outwit,outrun others before what belong to you (through the use of personal initiative, creativity) can come to you. You and I dont need that. we are complete in ourselves. We only need a "finetuning" from within and others not competition with others. If we need to compete at all, let us compete in developing personal,inherent potentials that are "wasting away" within.

Today, on our "BRAND and EXPO" programme on Cable Times Television, we discussed 'Brand Marketing'. The presenter wanted to know the position of trust in a new product/brand marketing. He was of the opinion that aggressive marketing will do a lot of magic to new brand/product in the market without trust.

As a brand and Public relations expert, i responded by saying that there is no amount of aggressive marketing magic that can work over a long time if the brand promise is not delivered consistently. You can only deceive clients for once by your sweet tongue. If they get to know, the brand ability to enjoy brand loyality will fade like a mirage.

We talked extensively on the usefulness of marketing research for a new brand entry to the market. The facts remains that there are over 900,000,000 (nine hundred millions) brands trying to serve the potential six billions clients. The place of marketing research cannot be underemphasized. Oh! The Soil Again?

There is something about the soil that serves as a unique lesson to human. But few of us learn the lesson. As open as this lesson is, we ignore it to our own peril. An average farmer is aware of this lesson. I mean farmers who are farmers indeed. Those who have nothing else to do than farming. The soil does not ask for your needs but the soil asks for your seed.Each time a farmer comes to the soil and catalogue his woes , misfortunes in the past season or the harsh economy that is wagging its tail against the farmer's wellbeing; the soil turns the deaf ear as if it is less concerned with the farmer's cry. What the soil often uses to answer the farmer is "bring me your seed'. No matter what, without the seeds in the hand of the farmer, there is no solution to the farmer's needs. I often imagine, how can a God's creature be so wicked to fellow creature. I mean, someone just expended his whole energy in something he hopes will result in a magnificient breakthrough and all of a sudden, a strange wind blows, few sunny days and all the farmer's hopes are dashed and the soil is asking for a new seed to plant. I realise like Denis waitley once wrote 'Losers live in the past. Winners learn from the past and enjoy working in the present toward the future." What the soil is saying is very simple " look forward to a great harvest and forget the past. Holding on to the past would not help and inche. Looking forward and working on the present guarantees a better tomorow. But alas, human emotions take the lead in decision making at such time. A simple counsel from Jim Rohn Will do at such time if we can heed it.' Our emotions need to be as educated as our intellect. It is important to know how to feel, how to respond, and how to let life in so that it can touch you." We must measure our emotions after a hard day, we must measure our emotions when things are not going as planned, we must measure our emotions when everything is pointing to a hopeless end. The soil would not stop asking for your seeds when you have a need(s), it is to your own advantage to find the seeds by all means and plant those seeds. The soil is not designed to listen to your needs, it is design to ask for your seeds. The earlier we align with its request, the better. The soil is not wicked as i am learning, but the soil can not help without a seed in your hand. Stop shouting "Oh, Soil," Just look for seeds and give those seeds to the soil; it saves your time and positions you for progress.

LOVE IN THE AIR

Today is the deal day... the real VALENTINE DAY.As we all know , a lot of stuffs will be displayed today in the name of love. The beastial nature of some will become opened.Expectedly, restaurants are to be filled with capacity, many 'joints' will sell beyond their average sales figure. While we are doing this, i will appeal that we apply caution to whatever we are doing. As we know, the power of sex is one of the strongest powers that can possess a man and if this is not properly channeled, it can lead to many destructive tendency that one may live to regret. Also we must realise that HIV/AIDS is still very much around. "spare me such stuff", some one may retort. But it is good to remind ourselves likely effects of our insignificant decisions that we daily make. Dont be caught on a bed with a lady/guy you dont want to Marry(that is my personal opinion). Place a value on yourself as a "BaBe"'. You are not just an item to be used and dump, you are creature of value. Dont just play safe, play intelligently and if it is possible, sex outside marriage is not a game, it is often filled with regret instead of the desired Fun. I hope i am not preaching. When an individual becomes passionate of whatever he/she is doing, it shows in the flow of his/her thought patterns. It shows in his/her dedication, total commitment to all. It reflects in his attitudes to what his mind is engrossed in. An individual cannot afford to be half-hearted and expect to break unusual grounds. A man of passion will refuse to give in to the contrary winds that are blowing against his vision, aspiration. He disallows temporary detours to sway him away from his goals. He forges ahead in his foray to show love to someone, help someone out, serves his organization/employer with passion and purpose. He realizes that in doing that; his joy and aspirations naturally become actualized. Love is the only factor that keeps an individual going when everything else is pointing to ceasefire, passion is what keeps the home front aglow when there is a little discrepancies here and there. Passion to become is the only reason to spend extra hours at work when others have gone to their various homes to enjoy the evening with their loved ones. Be encouraged

As human, once a while,we may get to a point when we expect things to move faster but instead life puts us in a gear that moves at the speed of snail. Often, our emotional reserves need recharge but alas, refills are not feasible. There are no "fuel stations" around. The only way to turn,or we have, is to turn to our subconscious to release necessary adrenalin that will jack up our energy. To move forward, you need to realise that those who are wounded must have been in the battlefield. A guy who hides his face at home hardly receive a punch. To be discouraged is a signal that you have high hope that you are pursuing. so in a way , you are a winner. Just being willing to make an effort. Note also that the 'man of the moment' takes many months,years to arrive. It is just a pity that many dont have access to the man's mental faculty, he would have been in the better place to explain how many times discouragements have set in but he had switched to the side of reason not to give up on himself. When things are not moving as one expects, there is a lesson to learn if we will be willing to learn.Life may be sending a signal to us that the speed at which we are going is to risky and you need to slow down to learn one thing or the other. Dont give up yet, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you will get there.You will fly again.I see a new day... very bright and clear

Today,i have the privilege of being a guest speaker on a live televison broadcast on Cable Times Televison(TTV) programme "BRAND and Expo". A programme that is focused on Brand management, Brand Building etc. This interview was granted as a post seminar coverage to our resently held "Branded". The presenter wanted my opinion on how one can take an idea from the scratch and turn it to a great brand that sells. We started the programme by defining what a brand means to an average person. I defined brand as the perception that people have dealing with your brand i.e. personal, corporate or product. I told viewers that most of the times brand is not rational but emotional. You dont have to be the best, but people, your stakeholders have to percieve you as being the only solution to their needs. The presenter asked whether it takes millions to build a strong brand since one needs to advertise and make known his products? My answer was simple "i strongly believe you dont need all the millions,but the individual must build trust, be dependable, go extra miles in satisfying his/her stakeholders perceived needs." If this is properly done, the brand can then enjoy stakeholders' loyalty and the brand can eventually turns them to brand advocates.

Because time is life, if you waste time, you are wasting your life. You cannot afford to waste time. This week, our encouragement is on ACTION, FAILURE AND SUCCESSES. Many times, we do not want to move because we are afraid to fail. But not taken any action also is a standard yardstick for failure. Failure is when you do not take action because you are afraid to fail. Those who had made any tangible impact are action oriented. Many do not consider failure as an option. When you move, you will learn many things in the process. You may not always achieve you target in totality but you would have achieved a part of it. This is progress; this is success as against what we define as failure. Our definition of failure needs to be re assessed. Calculated action taken with minimal result is not failure, the experience you will gain can never be bought with money if you are unwilling to move. Last saturday was our seminar BRANDED. it was a great experience. My good friends Lolu Mogaji(personal branding and image consultant) and Emmanuel Utomi( a self awarenes and mangement Expert ) did prove their mettles. We have the privilege of having a great Public Relation and management consultant who is also the chairperson of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations,Lagos state chapter (MRS. Nkechi Ali Balogun) in attendance.The two session held between 9.00am.1.00pm and 2.00pm.5.30pm Part of the conclusion reached was that everyone must acknowledge that he/she is a brand.Therefore individual personal brand must be taken seriously.Because,personal brands dictate the foundation of our successes.Everything we do daily or refuse to do are determining the kind of brands we are . It was also agreed by all that you dont need all the millions to project a good image of yourself. About corporate brand building, the participants all agreed that the personal brands of the executives can harm or establish a corporate organization and there is a need for the management to consciously work on their image so that it can support the promotion of the products as well as the corporate values. .

We take a lot of things for granted. I dont take the opportunity to be alife lightly any more. You can not create any human being no matter how tedious his/her life here can be. That you have the opportunity to be alife today- no matter what you have faced during the week- is an opportunity to thank your Time keeper who has not rang the bell for end of session. If He decides to say it is over and you must go and rest eternally, you have no power to say no. Therefore, have a good look at yourself today and say thank God i am alife.It is also the beginning of the year, you dont have to become frustarted by now. If you have in January, i hope you are not on a journey to ground the engine before March. What that simply means is that you are working on a suicidal mission that is bound to end in a catastrophe. That is not good for you i am so sure.Thank God for who you are. I love you so much and i thank God that you are alife today. Stay bubbling it is not week end. Use the weekend to work on your plans.

This is a title of a famous book in the twentieth century by a popular writer. I didnt attach any meaning to this title until recently.Someone said he expected life to be generous to him while he was a teenager and 'today life is very generous'.Every man gets what he expects from life. Many dont expect much and at the end they get little and this is no body's fault. Those who expect to be the best and give it their best shots often get what they strongly desired.Many suddenly found themselves in prison and ask themselves 'what am i doing here?'. The question we should ask them is where do they expect to be?. If you are not expecting anything, dont be surprise if life dish out to you anything that is available. Dont expect to be a failure this year, neither should it cross your mind that you can never make it. As if if success is a family heritage of selected few. In whatever field you find yourself, look at the key people on the top and place a great demand on your expectation, support this with ability to produce results that will move you to the top. Dont expect to be the one 'who clears the table after all had eaten' (except if that is your professional calling) . Expect to win the price, expect to be the best employee with several awards etc. I see you tomorrow.

The world we live in is a selfish one. The earlier you know this the better for you. An average person on earth is selfish even though many will not openly admit. The causes of all rivalries, scheming, opposition are traceable to individual selfishness. As long as the earth exists, we will continue to have it that way. While i am not advocating that you enter into the competitive plane, because we all need love to thrive, but you must realise that you dont need to ask anyone for permission to succeed. That will amount to time wasting. All you have to do is make an announcement to the world what you are here to do and what you are going after. When people see a siren blaring car coming, they usually make a way even though they have no idea where the car is heading to. You may be a bundle of talents, your potentials may be enormous, but talents unannounced to the rest of the world is wasted. Your case is even pathethic if you are deceiving yourself that you dont have any talent or potentials. GO, go ,go out there and announce yourself, stop looking like the one on whose head all the load is. You dont have to be. Of a truth, fingers are not equal, but which one of them does not has its own unique function.Finally why must you assume that yours is the shortest. Failure mentality is the reason. tear that garment off. I love you all.

Bravery is not a gene

Bravery- the act of sticking to it without turning back, to some is like a gene that is inherited by some from their great grand parents and passed-on to a special few. Bravery-the will not to quit what you are convinced of, may look like a a gene but it is not. No one is born with the spirit i called 'stickability'. Everyone that has it have to develop it overtime. The reason while many refused to develop it is nothing short of lack of strong- will to continue and many actually quit when they are at the verge of major breakthrough. You dont have to be born to a family of warriors, you can decide to go after what you believe, detremine to see what comes out of it and savour the joy of your personal bravery. Dont you ever join the bandwagon that believe that bravery is inherited, you can decide to become the 'brave' one by not joining the quitters club. You will succeed.

Life is like a mathematical equation so says Wallace Wattle. But i keep wondering while people mystify it. Some people believe that there is a magical power controlling the world that makes life to be positioned against their well beings. I believe there is a creator of everything that is. But He has no trace of hatred for anyone.There are principles governing the world and it is just good for everyone to align with the principles in order for one to be successful. For instance a law says "whatever goes up must come down", now if you claim to have some mysterious power and you jump up and wish that you will be suspended in the air eternally , that may be a tall dream/wish. Give life what it demands, start planning, start setting goals, stop believing that your fortune has being taken over by someone else, stop depending too much on the external force outside of you to become what you want to be. Stop looking for someone that will give you a job, acquire a skill, market it, annex the power within and ask for the creator's blessing on whatever you are doing and wait for the result. Life is not design to give you what you wish , but what you make a demand for. Life is so generous to everyone who designs his/her life,who goes after it and grab it .This is if you know what you want. Stop gambling with your life,stop wishing. Start designing your life and go after what you have designed, it will be easy to possess what you demand from life instead of wishing for a luck or magical power to deliver it to you one day. That day may never arrivess.

"RAK" PRINCIPLE

Two days ago, i was just meditating on a matter that has become a source of concern to me. I was thinking about what makes an average white man to be more successful man than an average black man. Most of the times, it is the black man that ask for debt relief, aids, support, funds for a project or many abandoned ones.I thought about the level of knowledge that has been hoarded and lost by many great black men . A lot of knowledge died with them without any trace or benefit to the coming generations. I also observed that the white people keep obliging the blacks. They have being consistent in their giving not because they have but because they have a generous heart.I conluded that the principle of 'RAK' goes a long way to help individual and corporate profitability. The principle is just Random Act Of Kindness. We must keep giving and stop seeing ourselves as poor people. There is a whole lot of difference between 'half empty and half-full cup of water'. If we must attain our heights this year, we must change our world's view about abundance and shortage.We must stop hoarding whatever that is our disposal. If you deal with information, give it out(that is my decision this year), if you have money, give it out, if you have spare time, use it on a beneficial project that will promote your community. By any means, include helping as many as you can in your goal and you will see a great difference in your life.

Why people give up searching for what they have lost is because, they feel it is not that important and they can do without such item. To achieve your goals and success this year, you need to define what it is to you and how will you measure your progress. Define what success or achievemnet of goals will mean to you personally. To some , it is buying a new car, buying a new house, sending their wards to one of the best schools around. To some it is ability to impact the society, while others feel that until they acquire a higher degree they are not successful. Christmas has come and gone. The year is comin to a close. In less than five days, we will be through. But there are still things we can do that can gurantee a fulfilled year. I was touched to the marrow yesterday when i watched a breaking news alert on one of Nigerian's television stations the gory tale of over five hundred people burnt to death in the bid to partake in our national cake that has become national poison. Majority of those that were burnt to death knew nothing about the activity of the vandals who broke the pipelines. I began to wonder, if someone had been there for those who went to burst the pipes, what if they were comfortable with what to eat, drink and where to sleep. Would they have gone to risk their lives? For i am so sure that only the poor dare such a risky venture. Any man with enough of what to eat, comfortable/decent house will not dare such activities. The kind of life these vagabonds live is meaningless to them, so they can dare to struggle for survival even if it means risking death- On a christmas and boxing days when the rich wine and dine in highbrow places, junctions and homes. I am appealing to those who can to please go out there and give something to someone who would not be able to pay you back. Someone whose life is no longer making meaning to and who is willing to die for a keg of four litre petrol. Bless a soul, give meaning to a life around you and you would have ended the year a touch of gold.

The man's neighbour gladly sold one to him at $10.The young traveler grabbed his new watch and was about to go with the wrist watch when the neighbour said, oh wait for the battery that powers the watch. Lo and behold it was two heavy bags load. Our appeal, don't buy what you don't need or what will become a liability to your life. Don't take up unnecessary `just for show' responsibility that will ground or limit your speed in the New Year. Stay on top and be the best.

Life sometimes is short.Some would- be hope of the family are often caught short by the wicked hand of death.But the good news is that sweet is the memory of a good person. It was a great sage that once wrote : I came , I saw , I conquered. I think this is the shortest summary of the life of this amazon and paragon of beauty. she is beautiful within and without. She is cute and well-mannered. A decent lady with sound character and home training, very respectful. We never had many years to relate but the few i knew about you is more than ages and your memory will linger on. Your transtition has become a source of concern to me, Kemi. I have become a little bit philosophical in the past three days. I have asked several questions and come to learn a very hard lesson about life. I dont want to take every minute i live for granted again. Neither do i want to take anyone who should be celebrated for granted again. I can not afford to wait to shower encomium on any dead person again. I have learnt and trying to work out how to celebrate everyone the more. I am trying to learn how to be patient with everyone even if they are not presently meeting my expectation(s). I want to enjoy every passing moment that my Creator gives me the opportunity to life. Goodnight Kemi till we meet to part no more.Great to know you in your short sojourn here. Even though we were not blood brother and sister, your life is so 'beautifully' spent that I can not but do this for you.

What is life Afterall?

Saturday was a busy day for me, i was delayed beyond the time alloted at a function i had to attend. I got home and relaxed. Tried to calm myself down for sunday. while charting with a friend's wife, her phone rang and it was her sister coming to Lagos fromIbadan. She told her Aunt that there was a fatal accident on the road and she and her husband were trying to help a lady who was fataly wounded. since none was ready to help her in the pool of her blood. They took her to FRSC hospital in sagamu but there was no single pin to attend to a victim In actual fact , the victim had been in her blood crying for help for upward of forty minutes. she talked it over and left not knowing that the lady in question was a very close person to my family. It was sunday(17-12-2006) that my wife's phone rang, we heard the news that Kemi was the accident victim and she died Kemi (Nee) Fapounda was such a kind hearted, easy-going, ready to help,decent and well-behaved lady. All through yesterday, we couldnt come to term with the death of kemi. We actually tried her phone to confirm whether it was a rumour. Her husband picked the phone to confirm the story. I remembered her days at Ibadan Polytechnic, she was a decent, fair in complexion lady who refused to use what she had to get what she wanted. She would go a extra mile to make anybody comfortable. Each time i visited them then,she wanted me to feel at home whether mother( that was what they called my wife because she was the president of joint campus sisters' fellowship) was at home or not. We lost contact for some years before we met again this June and we picked up the relationship again. Kemi's death has set me thinking about the real purpose of life. why does good people die young? why was it that nobody wanted to help a dying young lady? why would the hospital refuse to admit her immediately without a deposit as i was later informed?Why would the first daughter of a family dies at such a tender age of that was less than thirty? Too many whys without an answer. As a strong believer in God, i know that nothing happens without God's permission.All that i can say for now is that God knows better, kemi might have fulfilled her mission here on Earth. It dawns on me that we should live our lives as if there would be no tommorow and plan as if we would be here for ages. we must endeavour to help as many as possible as we can, be kind to others. Make as much impact we can make everyday and live each day at a time. To Dapo- kemi's three year old boy, may the Lord help you. I was told he was there just looking realising the impact of what had happened. To kemi's husband, parent and siblings, may God grant you all the fortitude to bear the loss.

Wait And Get

What does this mean to you? I need to get a 'feeler' from my community. I remember when we were growing up, we used to hear of wait and get passport photograph. We were so happy we wouldnt need to wait for three or four days to get our pictures out. Wait and get to us was a great opportunity to have the benefit of enjoying our money immediately instead of waiting. This rule still applies today. Instantaneous success. Unfortunately, if i must confes that it was not long before our joy became shortlived. Between four and ten months the instant passport would become blurred and no one would be able to recognise him/herself again. While those ones that passed through the normal printing process of dark room, laboratory usually last long. Some of them last till ten years.Amazing! My encouragement, which would you rather go for, instant success that does not last or the one that is sure but may take long time to come. Think about this and take a decision that may either affect you positively or negatively in a not too distance time? It is your life, go for what counts to you. But if i must advice, please do go for what is sure and that will last. HAVE A FUNFILLED WEEKEND.

DONT SAY YES

Many a time, we are the architect of our own woes. we give our words easily without considering the implications attached to those fleeting seconds. Saying yes without a thought of what it means is a real issue. we must ensure that we consider our thoughts. I have said yes many times before i realised that if i couldnt keep my words i would not appear serious next time. Why we say yes when we should say no is because we dont want to offend anyone. we want others to feel that we are on their side even if it is going to hurt our healths, finances, relationship among other important cycles of our lives. A purposeful life must learn to say No many times to several offer that will not be expedient. Ther are lawful actions and there are actions that are expedient.Ability to distinguish between the two is a key factor to personal success. I have not seen any 'YES' man who had made any appreciable contribution to humanity. they end up their lives with regrets and gnashing of teeth. I am sure you dont want to join the bandwagon. Research has confirmed that an average person must say five NO's before a Yes. Increase your chances of success by saying No, ten times. if need be. See you tomorrow.

LONG TIME

I will like to tender unreserved apology to my community, it has been closed to a week that i blogged here. I have been busy and the pressure of work is still on. Last sunday i was speaking in a annual general meeting/reunion of one of the universities where i schooled. It was a great event with opportunity to meet good old faces who are now big time players in different industries. I had the singular honour to talk to some of of my mates, seniors and younger ones on the topic i titled 'Effective Relationship Marketing' because i believed that that would help every one. Major highlights of the topic includes but not limited to: -nurturing, growing and retention strategy, process of personal/services' relationship marketing. Am i fulfilled doing that and did everyone enjoyed the session? I think the taste of the pudding is in the eating.I have received thank you text messages. That is fulfilment for me. Changing lives and bringing happiness to others.

Kill Fear

Being a murderer scares me like death. But i discovered that we can not afford not to be one once a while. I am a murderer of thoughts and fears that impede my progress. I was somewhere today talking to owners of some small and medium scale business of event, cake making and confectionery.One of them asked me after the meeting that how can she overcome her problem of public speaking and negotiation. She has all the qualities that she needs to have as an entreprenuer but she couldnt stand talking to someone. Beneath this i discovered that fear is behind her problem. What if and what if not? We need to become an expert in 'killing' our fears. Just make up your mind that the other person is a human being like you. They wouldnt kill. Realise that your fear is also afraid of you. Get out and look at the other person straight in the face, see others as your friend who are not out to eat you but are willing to hear what you want to say.

ARE YOU A FANATIC?

I read a definition of the word 'fanatic' by Winston Churchill yesterday. Churchill said ' A fanatic is one who cann't change his mind and wouldnt change the subject'. What an eye openning definition. I always think that fanaticism is associated only with religion. But this definition takes it further from religion alone. In our routes to success, we can not afford not to be fanatical in some ways. But, we must becareful, not to become regimental in our thinking, missing the other factors. Once the decision is made about what we need to do and what we want to become, there is need to close other options of failure. Failure should not be an option or entertained. But the evil of fanaticism as we have seen here is that, the individual wouldnt change his mind. W e must not change our minds with regards to whom we want to be and what price needs to be paid, but we must be able to accommodate little re alignment that we need to do in charting our courses. Aside from this , i strongly believe that anyone that will embrace success needs a little form of fanaticism. You must not change your subject of becoming whom you need to be, what price to pay and how to move from where you are now to your desired haven. In making up our minds to be successful, we must become a fanatic, but in charting the course of our journies, we must not be regimental. Because the strategy that works today may need readjustment tomorrow and if we are set like a concrete in our thinkings, we may miss the road without knowing. I am appealing to my community today that we should become a fanatic with regards to our choices. Your choices of today will have major impact on what you can be tomorrow. To start planinng for today's success today may be too late. But you can start planning for tomorrow today. I see you all tomorrow.

Keep Smiling

Its being easier for many of us to frown than to smile or laugh. Stastitic has shown that we use lesser numbers of muscles to smile than to frown. Smile cost nothing to give but add beauty to both the giver and the receiver.No matter what, keep smile on your face. The situation is not as bad as you may think. Think about tghe benefits you have enjoyed. If nothing , you are still alife. There is hope for a living dog than for a dead lion. Frowning makes you older than your age. It speeds up your ageing processs even though you are still in fifties or less. I love you so much, please keep smiling. that is better way to it. No alternative. Our thoughts are ours. No one forces a thought on you. Very few occasions are when people ask you to go and think about something. You dominate your thought realm. Our thoughts are powerful and shape our beings. If this is the case why dont we think about what we are thinking about? Knowing that our thoughts have the possibility of coming to pass.why then do some of us think about bad things happening to us? Why then do we not use this power that we owned to our own advantage instead of using this strong weapon to our own disadvantage? Suicide actions are product of thought! Prosperity and well-being are products of thought, ill heatlh(thinking about what can go wrong with you) is a product of though. I am appealing to my community to think about what they are thinking about. This will set them free totally. I think this is the shortest route to total freedom.

Welcome to a new day, we are fast approaching the New Year and we want to make an appeal to our community that each of you out there should place priority on skill development. The reason is not far fetched. Developed and sharpened skills add more value to labour. If the axe head is dull, a man must exert more energy. I am sure you don’t want to labour like an elephant and eat the bread of a rat. Some give excuses about the nature of their jobs’ duties- tight schedule among others. The irony of life as we have said is that when there is an urgent need for downsizing, they are the first set of causalities. Jim Rohn says “skills multiply labour by five, ten, fifty and hundred times. If you must get to your destination early, you must work hard on your skills development. That you have a doctoral degree does not mean that you cannot do some other skill development training that are available elsewhere. I was amazed to see that some of our Doctoral degree holders cannot work on the computer in this age and they seem to see nothing wrong. Just because they have departmental secretaries or whatever name they are called. Will the so-called secretary follow them to their houses and other personal endeavours in Life? Please begin to think of the necessary skills you would need to excel in life. Some of us need to go and learn second languages to be more effective. Someone wrote, “ medicine has changed many time but examination rooms remain the same”. Ask yourself “ when last did I learn new thing?” Since some have left the formal school, they have not done anything to improve themselves. I hope you are not one.

Appreciation Works Like Magic

Jim Rohn once wrote 'one of the keys to success is to have a successful relationship, we are not Islands and we dont get to the top by ourselves'. This is absolutely true and every man that has a solid,successful home front should always be thankful to God. Ideally, we should take our major encouragements from the homefront. Our homefronts need to be our greatest fans, anything short of this will distrup a lot of things in our personal efficiencies. A successful person must master the art of having a strong relationship with his/her spouse. This begin with the art of praising one another and strengthening the core competencies of each other. We need to celebrate each other and push one another on the tediuos road to succees(as it will appear sometimes). A man's leadership ability should first be tested at home. For if he fails at leading a family size of four or five persons(as the case may be), he may be a complete failure managing fifty employees or more. With that said, i want to use today's blogging to celebrate a wonderful, focused, dedicated woman in my life. Yesterday was her birthday and we were together after the church service just celebrating God's goodness in the life of this amazon who gave all. A lady who is ever there, whose commitment is unwavering. Peace is a relationship expert, mother, friend and choiced adviser. I realize that for anyone to be able to live with me under the same roof , where i am in control(laugh), it may be demanding. Because i tolerate nothing but excellence, perfection(even though i am not always), such an individual must be accommodating, patient and be gifted with spirit of 'long-suffereing'. Peace forgives easily all my shortcomings, ranting and my misbehaviours. She taught me to say 'our' monies instead of my money. she manages her relationship with my family (which she calls her own) so much that my siblings wish she should had been their blood sister instead of a sister-in law and this is the same with my parent. What else can i give to God than a big thank you for making our paths to cross and for me to have her as friend, counsellor and helper. And to Peace, i lack words but to say a big thank you. My prayer today and forever is that you may live long enough to reap the rewards of all your labour of love. Given the chance, I will still go for Peace anyday. Happy Birthday to you , my precious gift from God.

Every time, we move close to the end of the year, we usually remember our colleagues, friends and relatives who had made the year thick for us. Without them, life might have been a burden. It is a good thing to begin to count our blessings for being alife, healthy and wealthy( i do not mean physical cash) though it may include that. There must be a heart of gratitude to appreciate our Maker who made it happen. It could have been worst if it had not been the creator of Life. Whatever we have passed through should serve as a good reason why we should thank God for. Take your pen and paper, begin to count your blessings. Put them down one by one and you would be shocked how many things you have taken for granted. Also remember to send greetings to your love ones who were there for you as well as those who refused to show up at the time you needed them urgently. These are lessons in retrospect. Get ready to count your blessings and celebrate everyone one that matters to you.

Life Is A Faithful Rewarder

Life is not a wicked taskmaster like some of us have come to believe. The problem is that Life will not bend its rules to anyone. what we individually need to do is to align with the rules. The result is certain as death. It is a mathematical equation. For instance, if we commit to learning all that we should know in our field, all things being equal, and we connect with the forces that created the world; there is no other way but for us to become the best. The problem with most of us is that we are mostly influenced by the fast phaze philosophy-instantaneous answer to everything. If you make a decision to help others by all means possible, help will always come to you too. A pipe that supplies water is never dry. Those who create valuable time for their relationships to grow will always enjoy the benefits of a happy family. Those who sow seed of human kindness by giving will always have in abundance. If you commit to finding solutions to human problem, you will always live a life of bliss. If i decide to be wicked, become non-challant to what is going on in my environment, the day i will need help, i should not expect a miracle from others. Life is looking for whom to bless and lift up, will you be the one. Check your choices, attitude etc.
